The Department of Physics performs basic and applied
research in the field of solid state physics and optics. Recently the
research activities are focused on
nanophysics.
The department gives introductory courses in
physics for engineering students and more specialized courses for undergraduate
physicist and for the graduate students of the
Graduate School in Physics .
The main research topics are:

- applied optics
- surface physics
